THE TRAINED FOR LIFE™ STANDARD
A trained companion dog should function reliably within the owner’s actual life — not only perform commands during a training session.
-
The dog can settle, follow household structure, and respect boundaries.
-
The dog can move through public environments without uncontrolled pulling, barking, panic, or fixation.
-
Trained For Life™ works exclusively with small companion dogs.
-
The dog understands structured leash communication and remote communication when off-leash training is included.
-
Behavior is trained and tested at home and in the public environments where the dog will be expected to function.
-
The owner is taught how to handle the dog and maintain the completed training.
-
Dogs are released according to their behavioral and functional readiness — not simply because a predetermined amount of time has passed.

Signature Trained Puppies
Signature Trained Puppies are selected, acquired, raised, and trained by Trained For Life™ before placement.
Signature Trained Puppies are selected, acquired, raised, and trained by Trained For Life™ before placement.
Trained For Life works with selected breeders to identify puppies with suitable health, structure, temperament, and long-term potential.
Selection is not based on appearance alone. Breeder records and available health information are reviewed, veterinary checks are completed, and each puppy’s temperament is evaluated.
Each puppy is matched according to its temperament and the future owner’s lifestyle.
Puppies are released only when they meet the Trained For Life™ standard. Availability is limited because puppies are selected individually rather than sourced on demand.
Training includes:
Household structure
Playpen and potty routines
Handling and grooming preparation
On-leash obedience
Off-leash communication
Public behavior
Environmental exposure
Owner transfer
What Our Clients are Saying
“After watching Iana’s videos on socials, I fell in love with the idea of having a small dog I could take everywhere. I hadn’t seen dogs like that before, so I reached out to her to help me find the right puppy and train him.
Choco turned out to be even more than I expected. He’s loving and affectionate, but also very well behaved when needed — it just feels soo effortless, and my girls are always in awe when I bring him along.”

“We had a very specific look in mind, and health was a priority. Iana walked us through how breeding actually works and what’s realistic when it comes to looks, size, and structure, so we weren’t just choosing from photos.
We absolutely adore little Caviar. He came potty and playpen trained, already good on and off leash — honestly exceeded our expectations for a first puppy.”

Meet Dr. Iana Uvarova
Dr. Iana Uvarova is a doctor turned dog trainer, an e-collar expert, and the founder of Trained for Life™. She specializes exclusively in small breeds.
Her work began with her own Affenpinscher, Raven. What started as an effort to create a better life with one small dog eventually became Trained for Life™ — her system for building impeccable on- and off-leash obedience in small dogs.
Dr. Iana lives full-time on a sailing catamaran, travels internationally, and trains small dogs to go everywhere their owners go — without their size becoming an excuse for poor behavior, restricted freedom, or unreliable obedience.
Her work focuses on small-dog training, e-collars, behavioral problems, and the difference between a dog that simply knows commands and a dog that is genuinely trained for life.
